Will my daughter be exempt from stamp duty if I help her buy a house?

Q I want to help my daughter by taking a mortgage out on my house and using the funds to help her buy a first house. She will be using her own money plus some of my savings as the deposit. Will this qualify for the Stamp Duty exemption for first-time buyers? AF A Assuming that your daughter will be buying the property in her sole name and that it's not going to cost more than £250,000, yes, your daughter should qualify for the stamp duty land tax exemption for first-time buyers. However, had you been buying jointly with her rather than simply providing your daughter with financial assistance, she would not have qualified for the exemption.
