You ask, they answer: Slow Food UK

This week's You Ask, They Answer guest is Slow Food UK , the British wing of the Slow Food movement promoting food that's local, biodiverse and comes with an ecologically small footprint. The organisation is online from Monday to Friday this week to answer your questions on food and the environment. Founded by the Italian celebrity foodie Carlo Petrini in 1989, the philosophy of the Slow Food movement says: We believe that the food we eat should taste good; that it should be produced in a clean way that does not harm the environment, animal welfare or our health; and that food producers should receive fair compensation for their work. Whatever you want to ask about Slow Food, just post your questions below. Want to know more about its mission to protect the biodiversity of the species we eat? Interested in whether it agrees with its founder Petrini's view that "we can't go on with the same levels of meat consumption"? Or perhaps you've got a question about how Slow Food UK has recovered from what Paul Levy in February 2009 argued was a "slow death"? ( Alex Renton belives it's now on the up .)
