Half-term recess for all?

It's not just half-term for many UK schoolchildren this week – MPs are also away from Westminster on a seven-day recess . Parliament has come in for some criticism for taking what many people perceive as a holiday. Is a half-term break for MPs justifiable at a time when many people are working extra hours to keep their jobs during the recession?
