Iman: five things I know about style

1 My sense of style is inspired by timeless and classic silhouettes, and I love vintage. A lot of designers today have those old-time qualities – Victoria Beckham, Giambattista Valli and Ralph Rucci, to name a few. 2 The best make-up tips I learnt as a model are: less is more, bronzers make the skin look healthier regardless of what your skin tone is, and applying a gold or silver highlighter in the corners of the eye makes your face look fresher. 3 I have received so many beautiful gifts from my husband, David [Bowie], but my most treasured fashion item is my 15th-wedding-anniversary Fred Leighton ring. It's a 19th-century rose-cut nine-carat diamond – divine! 4 The designers who inspire me the most are Alber Elbaz for Lanvin, Donna Karan and Alaïa, forever! I have kept all my Alaïa, even though I can't fit into some of it any more. These days I am also loving Alexander Wang… 5 I think a woman looks her most stylish when she is comfortable in her own skin and feels confident. Confidence is the new sexy.
