Cardiff today - From Gaza to Cardiff, Whitchurch parking and council meet

Good morning Cardiff! Today the full council will meet at 4.30pm - the last before the summer recess – on the agenda will be the much-awaited questions to the executive which include whether Rhiwbina library will be awarded more funding , the results of the change in parking enforcement to the council and how much money this has earned the council so far, as well as a report from the standards and ethics committee. There is also expected to be a large turnout from the campaigners against the Splott incinerator. We'll have a live blog running from the meeting here today so check back for the latest. What's making Cardiff tick today In the news, Cardiff drivers have hit out at the council after the crackdown on parking in the city centre following taking over parking enforcement at the beginning of this month. Couriers in the city have said the amount of tickets being given is 'farcical,' reports WalesOnline. The beginnings of the makeover for the Old Library started with the corridor in preparation for the Cardiff Story area of the building in the Hayes due to open this Autumn. Read the report here. In the Cardiff Story space will be the project from Dan Green – Big Little City – which we featured on the blog earlier this year. On his blog, Dan writes about how the project is coming along – showing a scale model of the exhibition space. The exhibition will open in January next year. The Welsh Assembly is calling on your opinions for how accessible the arts and culture activities are in Wales. Interested parties are invited to submit written evidence by Friday 24 September 2010 to [email protected] More information on what the committee is looking for can be found here .
