Murdoch MacLennan becomes PA Group chairman

PA Group, owner of the Press Association news wire, has appointed Telegraph Media Group chief executive Murdoch MacLennan as non-executive chairman. MacLennan, takes up his new position on the board tomorrow, replacing Tim Bowdler. MacLennan said: "It is a real honour to be appointed chairman of PA Group. It is a fascinating time to be involved in the industry and, with Clive Marshall now at the helm, it is an exciting moment in the Press Association's history. PA Group, a private company with 27 shareholders, including Guardian Media Group, Associated Newspapers, News International and Trinity Mirror, yesterday appointed News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks to its board of directors , taking over the position previously held by News Corporation's chief executive of Europe and Asia, James Murdoch.
