I'm a pensioner – where can I get a mortgage?

Q Please can you tell me where I could get a mortgage? I am 70. Norwich & Peterborough and other recommended firms refuse to consider me on age grounds. I thought age discrimination became illegal in financial, as in other services, some time ago. I am seeking a mortgage of £60k for not more than 10 years, to buy a property valued at £560k and have a reliable annual income, on which, were I under retirement age, I would qualify for a mortgage of about £70,000 depending on the lender. SS A You could try the Ecology building society, Halifax or the Nationwide . According to information published by Moneyfacts , these lenders offer mortgages to older borrowers buying a new property on an interest-only basis. The minimum ages for these age-related loans are retirement, 65 and 60 respectively.
