New Zealand blame new haka for Four Nations defeat by Australia

New Zealand have blamed the introduction of a new haka for their slow start to last Saturday's 34-20 Four Nations defeat by Australia in Auckland. "A lot of the boys admitted last week that, with the new haka, [they] were focusing on doing the haka right when it should have been on playing well," said Benji Marshall, the Wests Tigers half-back He was one of a number of home players to make uncharacteristic errors as they conceded an early 18-2 lead at Eden Park. The Kiwis will revert to their traditional Ka Mate haka when they face Australia again in Saturday's final in Brisbane.
