Amanpour's move raises issues at ABC, but her age isn't one of them

Renowned CNN foreign correspondent Christiane Amanpour is moving to ABC. And, of course, there's controversy. Is it right to hire a star when you're making 25% of your news staff redundant? Does she know anything about US domestic politics? The one point nobody makes is that Amanpour is 52. It isn't an issue. Compare and contrast BBC1, where new research published last week shows that only 20% of its presenters are over 50 - worse than ITV1, let alone ABC.
