Eat My Globe by Simon Majumdar

Simon Majumdar is one half of fraternal food-blogging duo Dos Hermanos and Eat My Globe is the result of his decision to spend a year traversing the planet and fulfilling his blog mantra to "go everywhere, eat everything". To this end, he finds himself feasting on a sheep's head in Iceland, scoffing Philly cheese steak in its city of origin and sampling cod sperm sushi in Japan. Majumdar's passion for all things edible is evident and he has an amiable, engaging writing style, but the book whips too quickly from destination to destination to work as a travelogue. What's lacking here is a greater depth of insight and Majumdar only really raises his game when discussing his half-Welsh, half-Bengali heritage and his love of all things Spanish.
