Met Police awards printing deal to Canon

According to a notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 21 August 2010, the deal is for the Metropolitan Police Service and will replace an existing agreement for multi-functional devices, which expires in October 2010. The MPA said that Canon will be responsible for the management of the business change required to implement new printing technology at the service. The technology provider will also be expected to manage the "cultural change and user education in new ways of printing". It said that it hopes the deal will help streamline the Met Police's print estate and maximise its efficiency. Under the deal, Canon will also undertake maintenance and repair of devices and management of consumables. The MPA scrutinises and supports the work of the Met Police.
