Devo: Something for Everybody

"It's all the same/there's nothing new," sing Devo on their first record in 20 years, proving their capacity for arch self-parody remains intact. Indeed, Something for Everybody suggests they may have been cryogenically frozen in 1990, so little do they mess with their old shtick of serrated riffs, pulsing beats and sloganeering. A postmodern comment on societal inertia or simply a band rehashing their one idea? It's a moot point because as "Human Rocket " attests, they still get those limbs jerking like few others.
