British Airways worker questioned about terrorist funding
Police are questioning a British Airways worker about terrorist fundraising, it emerged today. The 30-year-old man was arrested at one of the company's offices in Newcastle on Thursday. He is being held at a central London police station after detectives were granted more time to question him at a court hearing on Saturday. A spokesman for British Airways confirmed the arrest. "We take matters relating to security extremely seriously and as a responsible company always co-operate fully with the police," he said. "As with any issue relating to a police investigation it would be inappropriate to comment further." The Sun reported that the man worked in one of BA's call centres, taking passenger bookings. Scotland Yard said searches were carried out at one of the company's offices.
