TV ratings: Five Days kicks off with 7.4 million

The second series of BBC1 drama Five Days began with more than 7 million viewers, nearly twice the number who watched ITV1 comedy drama Married Single Other on Monday, 1 March. Five Days, starring Suranne Jones, pulled in 7.4 million viewers and a 28.9% share between 9pm and 10pm, according to unofficial overnight figures. Married Single Other, starring Lucy Davis and Ralf Little, lost a third of its viewers from last week's series opener, down from 6.2 million to 4 million, a 15.5% share. Five Days's audience was up on its first series opener two years ago, when it began with 6.7 million viewers and a 27% share . At the same time on Channel 4, the sixth series of The Secret Millionaire began its new five-part run with 2.4 million viewers and a 9.5% share. It picked up another 315,000 viewers on timeshift service Channel 4 +1. BBC2 documentary Why Did You Kill My Dad? drew 800,000 viewers and a 3% share between 9pm and 10pm.
