Ice-T arrested for driving without a seat belt

Rapper Ice-T was spitting venom after being arrested in New York yesterday. The old-school gangsta was booked not for packing heat or corner hustlin', but allegedly for driving without a seat belt. Ice-T and his wife, Coco, were cruising through Manhattan on Tuesday morning when police pulled them over, according to a report by TMZ. "Some punk bitch rookie cop named Fisher #10026 made the arrest of his bullshit career today," Ice-T declared on Twitter . "Arresting the Notorious Ice-T for no seat belt." Ice-T, real name Tracy Marrow, was taken into custody and written up at a police station in Chelsea. He was released soon afterward. Despite these tweeted protestations, a police source told Entertainment Weekly that the rapper's offence was not just his belt-less driving, but that he was rollin' with a suspended licence and expired insurance. Ice-T seems to be in denial. "[That was] some bullshit they made up," he claimed. "[The officer] said 'I know who you are and I don't give a fuck!' That was right after I called him a punk bitch." Despite the posturing, Ice-T was not exactly engaged in a criminal errand: he was on his way to the vet, where his bulldog was to undergo knee surgery. Best known for provocative songs such as 1992's Cop Killer, Ice-T now plays an NYPD detective on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
