Week in film: from Amitabh Bachchan to Tom Cruise, by way of Jaden Smith

Week in film kicks off in Seville, with what Variety magazine refers to as the 'world preem' of Knight and Day. On the red carpet, with dinner still more than two hours away, the film's star Tom Cruise nibbles on the ear of wife Katie Holmes. Out in Beijing, it's time for The Karate Kid. This stars Jackie Chan and Jaden (son of Will) Smith. First he was handed a golden statuette and then he was introduced to Valentino Garavani. Here we see a grinning buffoon, opening the event in the company of a 'movie mascot'.
