Claudia Rosencrantz: I would love to stay and work at Sky
Claudia Rosencrantz, who runs Living TV Group and its portfolio of channels, said she "would love" to stay and work at BSkyB, which bought the business earlier this year. Rosencrantz said she was confident Sky would continue to invest in Living, which has performed well over the last few years and won plaudits for shows including Britain's Next Top Model and Dating in the Dark. "I don't fear for it because change is exciting and challenging... We've had an ongoing relationship with the platform," she added of the deal, which saw Sky buy the channels from Virgin Media for £165m. "I think Sky's an outstanding organisation. I would love to work there. I always stay and work in places where I'm happy and I'm loved and leave when I'm not." She said she would also be happy to move to the pay-TV company's headquarters in Osterley, West London. "I'm not bothered by geography", she said. Living attracts a female audience who Sky are eager to reach, she added. "It's very clear why Living has value to them." She pointed out that Sky had also invested heavily in marketing Bravo shows including Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Rosencrantz added that she was unable to predict what Sky's plans for the channels might be because she is barred from talking to Living's new owners until the deal is cleared by UK competition regulators. "We are none the wiser because we are in a lovely Guantanamo Bay-type place where we have no contacts with our owners.. until this process go through," she said. The deal is likely to be finalised when regulatory issues are resolved next month, when the Office of Fair Trading is expected to clear the transaction. She said a new deal with Katie Price is likely to result in several shows, an observational documentary similar to those she has made for ITV2 and another show Price is likely to front. A spin-off of Living show Four Weddings – Four Parties – is due to return to Living but will be rebranded as Party Wars. A second series of Dating in the Dark will feature celebrities as well as ordinary members of the public, she said. • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email [email protected] or phone 020 3353 3857.
