Rain frustrates England at Lord's
The unlikely prospect of England failing to beat Bangladesh in the first Test became greater when rain wiped out the morning session at Lord's. The rain began to fall an hour before the scheduled start of play at 11am and was expected to continue until around mid-afternoon. England were hoping to get back on the field as soon as possible, having come up against some unexpected resistance from the tourists' batsmen on day two. Bangladesh, who will resume on 172 for two in reply to England's 505, have lost 57 of their 67 Tests, and have never avoided defeat against Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa or Sri Lanka.
