Shares in Man Group up on the back of takeover rumours
Hedge fund firm Man Group rose to be the FTSE 100's biggest gainer this morning on the back of takeover rumours. Shares in the company rose 13.90p, or 6.1%, to 241.4p after rumours started circulating that BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, was looking for another large deal after acquiring the funds business of Barclays last year. "There could be some truth in it," said Citi analyst Andrea Agosti. "It's quite attractive in terms of valuation." The FTSE 100 was up 40.31 points, or 0.77%, at 5284.44.
