Representatives of governments from around the world are gathering this week in Japan in an effort to halt the decline of the planet's animal and plant species . While George Monbiot examines the prospects for the meeting today , we're joined tomorrow at 1pm for a live chat with Mark Wright , chief scientist at WWF .
