Leeds today: Bins chaos latest, Beeston in Bloom and council cuts delegation
Good morning Leeds, here's your Friday round-up. Just a reminder about tomorrow's public meeting about the Royal Park Primary School building at the Burley Lodge Centre in Hyde Park. The Royal Park Community Consortium have received permission to take over the building from the council, but now residents have to step up and get £750,000 in nine months to turn it into a community hub. The meeting, at 2pm, is for people to find out more about the project, and to appeal for more organisers and volunteers. Unfortunately I'm at a family funeral today, but there will be a post going live from me later this morning about last night's meeting about the future of culture and the arts in Leeds. What's making Leeds tick today? Hundreds of thousands of pounds are being spent on outside contractors in a bid to stop Leeds's bin chaos, reports the YEP . Leeds council, meanwhile, has issued a press release saying collection rates have vastly improved in the past week and reports of missed bins are being dealt with rapidly.
