Paul Weller urging listeners to "get your face out of Facebook", as he does on the title track of his 10th solo album, won't change the mind of anyone who thinks the 51-year-old is a grumpy old mod. Closer inspection reveals his most radical set since ditching the Jam for the Style Council in 1982. Its sprawling predecessor, 22 Dreams , shunted him from the middle of the road, and he's now indulging his long concealed experimental side. "Trees", for example, is a lovely five-part suite inspired by visits to his late father's care home. The purple patch continues.
