Leeds today: Eastgate date, Armley shopkeepers, Boar Lane and Leeds blogosphere updates

Good morning, Leeds. Hope you had a good weekend. Yesterday saw thousands of people take to the streets between the city centre and Kirkstall Abbey for the 2010 Leeds Abbey Dash - there's a video posted here in case you missed it. Tonight will see the next meeting of the Splashback campaign group , which has been fighting to keep leisure facilities at the now closed South Leeds Sports Centre in Beeston. It meets tonight at Hillside at 7pm. Also from today, I'm adding more Leeds bloggers to our Leeds blogosphere section to help celebrate the launch of the Leeds Community News Hub . Sheila King, head of retail leasing at Hammerson, has spoken to Property Week about the new Eastgate Quarters development in Leeds and reveals a 2015 target opening date. King also talks about Hammerson's competition with the Trinity Walk scheme, and explains why she thinks Leeds can support both developments. Catch the video here . A public consultation into how residents would like see Leeds in 2030 is encouraging people to take part in an online survey.
