England manager's demand that Capello Index be removed go unanswered
Fabio Capello was forced to endure further embarrassment today as the England manager's demands that the notorious Capello Index be removed from the internet went unanswered. More than 24 hours after the Football Association released a statement saying that the player ratings had not been seen or approved by the Italian and that his representatives had taken immediate steps to have the material taken down, the website was still live and showing the controversial marks out of 100 that are available for every member of the England squad who kicked a ball in the World Cup (with the exception of Peter Crouch, who did not play enough minutes to generate a mark). The FA claimed that the delay was related to a technical problem that was difficult to address at weekends and that the issue would be resolved by tomorrow at the latest.
