DoH seeks NHS jobs portal

A tender notice in the Official Journal of the European Union says the department wants a web based portal which would be accessible through a variety of current and future web enabled devices. The supplier will provide the hardware, content management software, web hosting and a help desk. The functions will include: the advertisement of publicly funded healthcare related job opportunities; application tracking; scheduling of interviews; Criminal Records Bureau and other checking; and CV and application reviews. Initially the service, known as the NHS Jobs Electronic Recruitment Managed Service, will available in England, but is also likely to be available in Wales and may be extended to users in Northern Ireland. The portal is expected to have an interface with the electronic staff records and with Job Centre Plus. The value of the five year contract is predicted to reach £30m, but could be as low as £5m.
