Beyond the Pole

This likeable British comedy is a cod documentary about two dim, idealistic 30-something Londoners making the first carbon-neutral, organic, vegetarian, non-assisted journey to the North Pole. The bar for such films was set pretty high by Christopher Guest's Best in Show , and I'm afraid that, despite a few felicitous moments, Williams gets nowhere near. I thought Guest's film had been matched last year by Sacha Gervasi's Anvil , until I discovered it was an authentic rockumentary.
