TV ratings: More than 5m wish Jonathan Ross goodbye
More than 5 million viewers saw Jonathan Ross's emotional farewell on his final BBC1 chatshow on Friday, 16 July. Friday Night With Jonathan Ross averaged 4.726 million, a 30.4% share, between 10.35pm and 11.35pm, peaking with 5.147 million between 11.15pm and 11.30pm, according to unofficial overnight figures. It easily won its slot, with Channel 4's Big Brother coming closest with 2.304 million, a 13.5% share, for its eviction show between 10.35pm and 11.05pm. The second Big Brother show of the night was seen by another 168,000 viewers on Channel 4 +1. The main Big Brother had 2.573 million viewers, a 12.1% share, between 9pm and 10pm, with another 196,000 on Channel 4 +1.
