Hello! pays Jude Law privacy damages
Jude Law has settled a breach of privacy action with Hello! magazine, with the magazine agreeing to pay £9,500 in damages and undertaking not to publish any pictures of the Alfie star with his children until they are 18. Law launched a legal action against the celebrity weekly for breach of privacy after it published pictures of him with his children on a beach in the Caribbean. Hello! has now reached a settlement with Law, through his legal firm Atkins Thomson, agreeing to pay damages of £9,500 as well as legal costs. It has also agreed not to publish any pictures of the actor in places "in which he has a reasonable expectation of privacy", or any photos of Law with his children before they are 18. The deal covers public or private beaches, sporting and school events, and public and private parks. Two years ago, the author JK Rowling won a landmark court of appeal ruling that banned the unauthorised publication of pictures of her young son, David Murray .
