Tomorrow's toys

Chuckle buddies laugh infectiously: sweet at first, but you'll feel like avoiding them like the plague after five minutes. Mini Chuckle Buddies (Mint Concepts, RRP£4) are keychains that laugh when you squeeze them. The bigger versions (RRP£15) roll around on the floor and roar with laughter Photograph: Graham Turner/Guardian Photograph: Graham Turner/guardian.co.uk Toys aren't just for humans. The Pets Eye View Camera (Brainstorm £49.99) attaches to your cat or dog's collar and takes pictures automatically as it wanders around. The pics can then be downloaded to your computer, giving you a good idea of what your four-legged friend spends most of his or her time looking at Photograph: PR Photograph: guardian.co.uk Popitball (MD Product Innovations, RRP £24.99) is a size 5 football to which you stick 12 Popits (rubber plugs that glue themselves on with a bit of spit). The idea is to keep the ball in the air until you have kniocked them all off - Gary Warren here can do it in 24 seconds, but he is, ahem, really fit Photograph: Graham Turner/Guardian Photograph: Graham Turner/guardian.co.uk Karen Gerhardt modelling a possible future horse model for US horse toy specialist Breyer Photograph: Graham Turner/Guardian Photograph: Graham Turner/guardian.co.uk OK you boys who really wanted to play with Go Go Hamsters but thought they were a bit girly - this is for you. Rebranded Zhu Zhu hamsters (Character, from RRP £9.99), the rodents have gone ninja Photograph: Graham Turner/Guardian Photograph: Graham Turner/guardian.co.uk And there are even more members of the Zhu Zhu hamster family for the girls. The mum is apparently the hedgehog version that will come out later in the year, but we think she is the image of Dougal from the Magic Roundabout. (Character RRP £4.99 for babies, £9.99 for adults) Photograph: Graham Turner/Guardian Photograph: Graham Turner/guardian.co.uk You need never worry about not being able to find your tent at Glastonbury again with this Hello Kitty version (Sanrio £69.99). That's if you dare admit it's yours... Photograph: Graham Turner/Guardian Photograph: Graham Turner/guardian.co.uk Just in case you don't get enough football this year, Starplayer allows you to buy your own squad and take part in a knock out competiton. The game is already on sale (www.inspiredgames.co.uk, £29.95), but World Cup and UK club versions will come out during the year Photograph: Graham Turner/Guardian Photograph: Graham Turner/guardian.co.uk
