BP oil spill: can you fix it?

As oil continues to spill from BP's damaged Deepwater Horizon wellhead , increasingly bizarre ideas for solving the crisis have been floated: everything from the "clean machines" of Hollywood star Kevin Costner (they work, but would take too long) to "nuking it" (it's been done in Russia, apparently, but making the Gulf of Mexico radioactive might be problematic). Do you have any better ideas?
