The top-paying universities

The income of thousands of top British academics has risen dramatically in the last decade. The Guardian charts how more than 80 heads of universities now earn more than the Prime Minister. Annual earnings for some of them have doubled or even tripled over the past 10 years. Almost 4,000 other academic administrators, consultants and scientists are now being paid more than £ 100,000 a year, compared to just a handful a decade ago.
