Zlatan Ibrahimovic ruled out of Barcelona's second leg against Arsenal
Barcelona will be without the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal on Tuesday after the Swedish stiker picked up a calf injury yesterday, his club said in a statement. Ibrahimovic, who scored both Barça goals in the 2-2 first-leg draw at the Emirates stadium last week , was pulled from the starting XI during the warm-up for last night's La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao at Camp Nou, which Barcelona won 4-1 . An initial examination revealed he had a small tear in his right calf. The Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola, had earlier told a news conference that "it will be difficult for him [Ibrahimovic] to play [against Arsenal]. I hope he'll be ready at least for the Madrid game. He had complained of some problems after the match in London." A crucial week for the reigning European and Spanish champions begins on Tuesday when Arsenal visit Camp Nou looking to maintain the momentum that enabled them to come back from 2-0 down in the last 20 minutes. As well as being without Ibrahimovic, Barcelona will be missing their regular centre-back pairing of Carles Puyol and Gerard Piqué, as both players are suspended. Barça then face Real Madrid at the Bernabéu next Saturday in a game that may decide the destination of the title. They could still be without Piqué, who finished the game against Bilbao with a muscle problem and will be out for six to seven days, the club said.
