Premier League asks Blackpool to explain Ian Holloway's team changes

The Premier League has written to Blackpool, asking them to explain the changes made to the team by Ian Holloway for the games against Aston Villa and West Ham. After drawing with Everton on 6 November, the Blackpool manager made 10 changes for their next game against Aston Villa, which they lost 3-2. Holloway then changed the whole team for last Saturday's goalless draw at West Ham. The League feels the club are in danger of setting a bad example if they are not penalised. Holloway has repeatedly said he would rather resign than allow the League to tell him how to pick his teams. "If the Premier League are looking for me to explain it, I can explain it every step of the way," Holloway said. Blackpool have a week to respond to a formal letter from the League. Wolves were given a £25,000 suspended fine by the League last season after Mick McCarthy made 10 changes against Manchester United to save his players for a key game against Burnley in the club's battle to avoid relegation.
