Villa Amalia

Isabelle Huppert is reliably watchable and unfathomable as Ann Hidden, a Parisian pianist shedding her identity to find a hut of her own on the Italian island of Ischia. This is a mysterious little piece about self-discovery, the camera following Huppert like a detective. Thomas, the bewildered partner Ann suddenly leaves after 15 years, is played by Xavier Beauvois, whose own film as director, Of Gods and Men , won the Grand Prix at Cannes last month.
