STV sees improvement in advertising revenue

Scottish ITV licensee STV has reported a "sustained improvement" in TV advertising revenues continuing into the final quarter of the year, with October up as much as 20% year on year and November on track for a 10% boost. In an interim management statement covering trading from 26 August to 21 October, STV said that between July and September, TV revenues were up 10% year on year. October TV revenues are currently showing year-on-year growth of 15% to 20% and November is on target to be up 5% to 10%, the company said. "The improved market conditions evident during the first half of the year have continued to prevail and trading in the third quarter reflects the general improvement in the airtime market and the continuing delivery of our digital strategy," said Rob Woodward, chief executive of STV.
