Chris Gayle makes second career 300 as West Indies dominate Sri Lanka
Chris Gayle has become only the fourth man in cricket history to make more than one triple-century in Test match cricket. The West Indian joins Don Bradman, Virender Sehwag and Brian Lara after reaching 300 just before tea on day two of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. It was an innings of typical aggression from the former captain, who was finally bowled by Ajantha Mendis for 333 in a knock that included 34 fours and nine sixes. Though Gayle dominated the scoring, he got support from Adrian Barath (50), Darren Bravo (58), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (32) and Brendan Nash (64). Gayle's previous triple-ton came against South Africa in Antigua in April 2005, when he made 317 in a West Indies total of 747. Today's innings was the joint 12th-highest of all time.
