Two and a Half Men: Charlie Sheen signs new two-year deal

CBS has re-signed Charlie Sheen to Two and a Half Men, one of the biggest comedy shows in the US , while the remake of Hawaii Five-O and Twitter-inspired show Shit My Dad Says are set to feature in the broadcaster's upcoming schedule. Sheen, who has been the subject of months of rumours about leaving the show , had reportedly wanted to double his $1m-an-episode deal. It is not known what figure was agreed for the two-year deal. "To put a fitting end on the two-and-one-half months of whirlwind speculation, I'm looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights," said Sheen in a statement issued by his publicist . CBS, which is due to unveil its autumn and mid-season schedule later this week, has reportedly picked up Shit My Dad Says , starring William Shatner and based on the Justin Halpern's Twitter feed , which has already been turned into a book. According to the report CBS will also announce that it has picked up classic cop show Hawaii Five-O, a massive hit from the late 1960s famous for its "Book 'em, Danno" pay-off line, for which it made a pilot last year . The original show, shot on location in Honolulu, Hawaii, ran from 1968 through to 1980 featuring navy officer Steve McGarrett fighting crime across the Pacific island chain . • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email [email protected] or phone 020 3353 3857.
