North Yorkshire awards £5m HR deal
North Yorkshire county council has signed a six year, £5m deal with Northgate Arinso for the supply, configuration, implementation and support of an HR and payroll managed service for North Yorkshire and other local authorities. According to a notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union, the council provides "varying degrees" of managed HR and payroll services to a number of public sector organisations in the region. These include North Yorkshire fire and rescue service and Hartlepool and Scarborough councils. "The supplier will therefore be required to continue to accommodate current working arrangements and ensure that the council has the ability to scale the contract to potentially varying levels of live records and functional requirements," says the notice. Northgate will be required to supply an off-the-shelf and ready to use service system that will include a range of functions such as web recruitment functionality; workforce administration and management; document and knowledge management; and reporting functionality including statutory returns. In February 2010 the council published a tender for a disaster recovery framework contract worth up to £40m. This article is published by Guardian Professional.
