Owais Shah traded from Delhi Daredevils to Kolkata Knight Riders

Owais Shah has been traded from Delhi Daredevils to Kolkata Knight Riders as the two IPL teams tinkered with their squads before the auction on 19 January. The Australian all-rounder Moisés Henriques moved in the opposite direction. Shah was picked up by Delhi at the first auction two years ago for $250,000 while Henriques joined Kolkata for $300,000 (£156,000) before he made his international debut last February. It has been a slow period of trading in the IPL and there was only one further transfer with Delhi trading Manoj Tiwary to Kolkata. All the transfers were listed on IPL's official website. Amrit Mathur, Delhi's chief operating officer, told cricinfo.com: "Teams have very limited requirements except for minor adjustments in terms of injuries, or if a player is not available like in case of a buy-out. Sometimes economics comes in the way and you have to consider the player availability and how long his contract stands for." Some teams were also creating spaces before the auction with Glenn McGrath a casualty. His contract, worth $350,000, was bought out by Delhi.
