Media Square buys Chick Smith Trott ad agency

The marketing services company Media Square has acquired the Chick Smith Trott ad agency for £430,000 in cash. Media Square said that the acquisition would complement its ad agency business The Gate. CST, which counts Dave Trott among its founders, was owned by Cagney plc and has clients including Subaru and NS&I. It is expected to report a pre-tax profit of £140,000 on revenue of £2m for the financial year ended 31 December. It will relocate to The Gate's offices in St Katherine's Dock in London and The Gate's chairman, Philip Gregory, become CST's chief executive. • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email [email protected] or phone 020 3353 3857.
