HSBC's attitude to data loss is alarming

What's worse, losing the personal data of 24,000 customers or taking three months to realise the size of the theft? HSBC apologised yesterday for events at its Swiss private bank but did not explain how it could have thought last December that "fewer than 10" customers were affected. Alarming.
