TV ratings: The Million Pound Drop tops 2m
High-concept gameshow The Million Pound Drop topped 2 million viewers on Channel 4 last night, Wednesday 26 May. The Million Pound Drop, which is being stripped every night between Monday and Saturday, attracted 2.177 million viewers and a 12.6% audience share on Channel 4 from 10pm – the show's best figures yet. A further 171,000 (1.9%) watched an hour later on Channel 4 +1. Elsewhere last night The National Movie Awards, broadcast on ITV1 between 8pm and 10pm, drew 2.819 million viewers (12.8%). Competition included the concluding episode of BBC2's two-part adaptation of Martin Amis novel Money, with 697,000 viewers (3.1%) from 9pm. Sunday's first instalment drew 1.12 million (5.1%). The other 9pm shows on the five main networks were BBC1's Junior Apprentice (5.046 million/22.6%, BBC HD 109,000/0.49%), Channel Five's NCIS (2.064 million/9.2%) and Channel 4's Desperate Housewives (934,000/4.2%, C4+1 228,000/1.3%).
