The Ape

This stark, minimalist feature traces the last day of freedom (if that's the word) of a Swedish driving instructor who wakes up on the bathroom floor having murdered his wife and attempted to kill his small son. He goes to work, abandons a pupil in mid-lesson, takes his son to A&E, visits his mother, contemplates suicide, attends a church service, and so on. Existential Scandinavian stuff, it holds the attention.
