Glastonbury 2010: Florence and Radiohead steal the show

It might be a stereotype that Brits like to talk about the weather, but it's one that rings true on this scorching Glastonbury weekend. In between discussion about whether anyone could spot a cloud in the sky, there were plenty of bands to distract festivalgoers from the heat. Florence and the Machine stepped it up a gear to a huge crowd on the Other stage, proving that she's a festival favourite with gaggles of girls and gangs of lads alike. Sadly, her presence didn't seem to carry to the small screen, if you believe our readers (Earwicker: "rancidly out of tune, judging by my telly"). Gorillaz headlined the Pyramid stage on Friday night, but Radiohead attracted the most adoring crowd in a not-so-secret-but-still-a-surprise set on the Park stage earlier in the evening. Alexis Petridis decided that the gig was so good that even a Radiohead refusenik could enjoy it, though this may be because Thom Yorke was "dressed like Mark Knopfler" . As for the headliners, it seems that Neil Tennant was right when he told the Guardian: "It's interesting that Dizzee is playing just before Gorillaz. Damon should be a bit worried about that ..." The general consensus is that the Gorillaz set lacked a bit of oomph. @lba_dub, one of our dedicated crew of twitterers , wrote: "Gorillaz – didn't work for me. Damon's other band were 100 times better last year." Our reviewer Dorian Lynskey was inclined to agree , giving the band three out of five for a "rocky, risk-taking" set. To keep track of the festival as it happens, remember to head to our live Twitter page, with messages from readers, bands and journos. We've also got a fancy map that you can have a play around with. Enjoy!
