Join Steve Levine and Richard Allinson , the team who created the groundbreaking documentary series ' The Record Producers ' for BBC Radio 2 and 6music , as they reveal the secret recording techniques behind the legendary Tamla Motown catalogue. This exclusive and unique event will be held at London's famous Metropolis Studios. Richard and Steve will be joined by the Vice President of A&R at Universal Music Enterprises, Harry Weinger whose knowledge and thoughtful management of the vast Tamla catalogue has ensured Motown's music still sounds fresh and remains forefront of public consciousness. The day will start with a talk on the history of Metropolis Studios, the world class recording facility which has hosted many legendary artists including Motown-influenced artists such as Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Adele and PlanB. Programme for each session: • You will join Steve, Richard and Harry in the 'live' studio area as they explore the essence of the Motown legend, the culture behind the record label and its everlasting influence on today's artists. • Using the original master recordings, our three hosts will 'deconstruct' the classics, removing and adding individual recording tracks, to offer you a unique insight into how classics such as Baby Love by The Supremes , Reach Out by The Four Tops , Bernadette by The Four Tops and What's Going On by Marvin Gaye . • Steve will will use the 64-channel studio desk to create an unrivalled audio-visual experience mixing the original Motown multi-track recordings with the latest digital technology to see and hear how those famous Motown records were recorded and produced, using recording technology far more advanced than even the Beatles had access to. • Finally feel free to ask questions and swap stories over drinks at the Metropolis bar.
