M&S recruits 1966 World Cup winners

Marks & Spencer is to launch an ad campaign in support of England's bid to win the World Cup, reuniting 1966 winners Sir Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters, Roger Hunt and Gordon Banks. The campaign, by the ad agency RKCR, features the four footballing legends dressed in M&S suits. M&S is the tailor for the official Football Association suit that will be worn by the England team at the tournament in South Africa. The national press campaign will run as a double page spread from Friday with the first page featuring one of three different groups of players from the current England team along with the strapline "Three Lions, One Tailor". The second page will feature the four players from the triumphant 1966 team with the strapline "Four Legends, One Label". The ads will run tomorrow in Shortlist, the men's free weekly distributed in London, ahead of a national press rollout. • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email [email protected] or phone 020 3353 3857.
