Deaths in the Northern Ireland conflict since 1969

This is one database we haven't had to look at for some time - a far cry from the 1970s and 1980s when Ulster was a battleground. Out next week, the results of the Saville enquiry - criticised by some - into the deaths on Bloody Sunday have highlighted just how bad things got in the province. We were interested to see how things have changed , so we've gone back to the ultimate resource of sectarian violence statistics in Northern Ireland: The Sutton Index of Deaths , from the Conflict Archive on the Internet, or CAIN . The sheet shows all the deaths in every year since the 1960s — look at the second spreadsheet for a complete breakdown across the security forces What can you do with the data?
