Notorious BIG death lawsuit dismissed

A judge in the US has finally dismissed a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles from the mother of late rapper Notorious BIG . Voletta Wallace had filed the suit blaming the city and the LAPD for her son's wrongful death. However, judge Jacqueline Nguyen has now dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice after five years of legal wrangles, according to Allhiphop.com . Uncertainty has surrounded the death of the rapper, who was gunned down in 1997. Based upon claims from former officer Russell Poole, the wrongful death suit had alleged that LAPD officers Rafael Perez and David Mack had conspired alongside Death Row Records boss Marion "Suge" Knight to murder the rapper. Mack and Amir Muhammed, who had been accused of pulling the trigger, have long since been cleared of criminal charges. And while BIG's murder remains unsolved, this is the second time his family have failed in a civil action. In 2006, a $1.1m judgment against the city was awarded to the family and then revoked after district judge Florence-Marie Cooper discovered the family had information they told the court they did not have access to.
