Queen too busy to attend Commonwealth games

The Queen will be absent from the Commonwealth games in October for the first time in decades, Buckingham Palace has confirmed. Prince Charles will attend the games in Delhi but the Queen will be too busy to attend one of the biggest events on the Commonwealth calendar, following shortly after the Pope's visit to Britain. A spokesperson said: "The volume of engagements, coupled with other overseas commitments, means she will not be able to attend." The Queen, 84, has made more than 60 foreign visits during her reign. "Health has not played a part in this," said a royal source.
