Cypress Hill: Rise Up

You might think, as they enter their 40s, that Cypress Hill would have forgone the indulgences of their youth in favour of rapping about retirement plans. You'd be wrong. Every other verse on Rise Up seems to be about the joys of smoking marijuana and when they aren't rolling up, the LA three-piece are rocking out with the likes of Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine. Rap-rock is rarely if ever a good idea, and so it proves here. Only "Light It Up" and "Armada Latina" have something of the Hill's old infectious swagger. It might be time to roll it up for good.
